2 Simple Questions; Then Act Fast!

Posted on

Growing businessIs your business an idea and/or under 3 months old?

Then consider the half-day Business Start-up workshop on 16th September in Coleford.

Is your business is over 3 months and under 3 years old; is likely to recruit in the next year and based in Gloucestershire?

Then consider the Growthhub’s Essentials Programme starting 10th September in Gloucester.

Business Start-up Workshop

This is the Forest of Dean Entrepreneurs’ last plug for the half-day Business Start-up Workshop taking place on 16th September 9.00-12.30 at Coleford Town Council Offices. This workshop has helped over 70 people in the Forest of Dean to decide whether self-employment was an option for them or not.

Topics covered include:

  • Defining what you will sell.
  • How to get started.
  • What support is there locally?

This is a truly interactive session to help you get the answers you need. The cost is only £12, or free if you are on Jobseekers Allowance – to book your place or to find out more about other start-up business support locally, please call Andrew Maliphant on 07772 053778 to ask any question!

The Growthhub’s Essentials Programme

The Forest of Dean Entrepreneurs is always happy to signpost other relevant support particularly when time is short.

Getting the essentials right is key to ongoing success. The Growthhub’s Essentials Programme gives business with under 3 years trading insight into the essentials to running a successful business including practical ‘how to’ advice, support and in some cases training.

But you need to act fast as The Essentials Day is on 10th September and specialist essentials sessions will be run before the end of September. If you are eligible the programme comprises:

  • A free place on the Growthhub’s Essentials Day on 10th September provides you with key insight, top tips and next steps for the top 5 business essentials of Business Strategy and Planning; Sales; Law; Marketing; Funding and Finance. Added to this are catered breaks/networking sessions with other participants and business mentors.
  • 2-4 hours of specialist how-to/top tips advice. Essentials Day helps identify what topics or activities you need to focus on as a matter of priority. The Growthhub then endeavours to provide you with advice and support for two of those topics in the form of further Essentials Sessions e.g. Essentials to Social Media with Jonathan Pollinger or Essentials to Sales Negotiation with Eilis Cope
  • Business Review. Growthhub’s panel of experts will then review your businesses and identify how best to support you further. This may include: a 3 month support plan; subsidised ‘How To/Top Tips’ Sessions; 1-2-1 mentoring with successful entrepreneurs/business specialists; networking events; business space/facilities.

Your next step is to email Laurence Hale mentioning the Forest of Dean Entrepreneurs. You’ll be asked to complete an on-line application form to confirm eligibility and then be sent confirmation of your free place on the Growthhub’s Essentials Day.

Please note in the event of a no-show for a confirmed place the Growthhub will charge the full amount for Essentials Day £250 as places are limited and an attendee not turning up is a wasted opportunity for another entrepreneur.

The simple question

The only real question is which one of these two free or low cost opportunities can a business owner afford to ignore? Take the first step talk to Andrew or email Laurence. Ask any questions you need. Then decide and book.
