So when asked why we had not featured ourselves, Andrew as a co-founder was delegated to answer our questions for the project.
With less than a month to go to the Fair, we are stepping up the social media using the #ForestEnterpriseFair on Twitter.
Jo Davies of Forest Traders is busy re-tweeting anyone who uses it, so a good way to get your name out or to seeing what others are saying.
Name: Andrew Maliphant
Name of your business (a partnership project): Forest of Dean Entrepreneurs
Website address: www.fodentrepreneurs.co.uk
1. What did you do before your current business?
I was working in community-based regeneration, and my co-founder Miranda Jenkins was a business trainer
2. What made you start your current business?
It was a natural progression from the Forest Business Incubator project 2011-2, which was an initiative led by Adult Education in Gloucestershire following the end of the Government’s Business Link service
3. What do you most enjoy about your business?
Helping new businesses get all the support and insights they need in their early stages
4. If you had a magic wand what would you change about your business?
To be better known by existing small businesses who we would also like to help with advice, training and networking opportunities
5. Do you have any useful tips or ideas that you could share?
Every project and every business has its time (it took us 11 months to re-launch the Entrepreneurs project with the help of a steering group and local sponsors) – so find people who can help you, and persevere!
By the way, after 3 stalwart years Andrew has handed over the admin duties to Yisselda West and now joined the Forest of Dean Entrepreneurs steering group in his own right.
