Andrew has been working in community and economic regeneration for twenty-five years since his postgraduate management training at the Ironbridge Institute in Shropshire.
He came to the Forest of Dean in 1996 to become the first regeneration manager for Cinderford, working to a steering group of local residents and organisations, and working closely with local businesses.
Since 2009 Andrew has been working as a freelance consultant under the banner “The Community Works”, and specialises in supporting community and social enterprises. He was involved in the pilot Forest Business Incubator project with Miranda Jenkins in 2011, and when the pilot funding ceased in 2012, worked with Miranda and other steering group members to set up and sustain the Forest of Dean Entrepreneurs, which continues with local business sponsorship to this day.
Andrew’s Local Regeneration Handbook was published by Sage Publications in October 2017.
